Organic farming

Organic farming, or more accurately ecological farming, has a lower environmental impact than conventional farming. It minimises all forms of agriculture-related pollution. It is also focuses on improving soil structure and restoring biodiversity, thereby promoting a harmonious, healthy, and balanced ecosystem.

We pursue these goals by minimising our use of industrial products. We mainly use organic materials and avoid forced growth techniques. We focus on disease prevention and treatment using homoeopathic and herbal remedies, avoiding synthetic products except for traditional methods such as sulphur and copper.

1958-2008

Our first fifty years were marked by courage, research, adventure, experimentation, and analysis.

2009 - 2014

The last five years have been about courage, research, tradition, respecting the environment, and reducing our carbon footprint.

2015

Our present and our future are geared towards courage, adventure, experimentation, awareness, and organic certification.
The profound changes that have led to the evolution from Pasini Andrea to Pasini San Giovanni are also expressed in our wines: polished by time and knowledge, yet still fresh and dynamic just like our courage and drive towards experimentation. The colourful patchwork of vineyards, olive trees, bees, flowers, and countless plant species that make up our surroundings are clear signs of the kind of biodiversity that we believe is the right path towards improving the land and promoting a harmonious and healthy environment. We are also convinced that agricultural sustainability leads to a more beautiful environment.

In Valtènesi and Lugana, organic viticulture is considered a good habit, just like good wine and good food.

Because organic viticulture is the right thing to do.

Pasini San Giovanni

Organic wines from Lake Garda

Founded by Andrea Pasini in 1958, the winery is a family business now in its third generation of winemakers. With its 36 hectares of vineyards on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda between Valtènesi and Lugana, every bottle of Pasini San Giovanni reflects the Lake Garda winemaking tradition. Powered by photovoltaics since 2009 and continuing to focus on minimising its carbon footprint, the winery and its entire operations are getting closer and closer to 100% sustainability.

The Pasini San Giovanni vineyards have been completely organic since 2014. Today, the company bears two names: Pasini has clear ties to the family that founded and continues to run the business; San Giovanni comes from the Cascina San Giovanni and church of San Giovanni in Palude, a hamlet of Puegnago near Raffa di Puegnago.

Our Organic Wines

Philosophy

Organic wines from Lake Garda

Good wine comes from good soil. When we inherit good soil, it is our duty to preserve it - and even improve it - for those who come after us. Local viticulture and wine should embody its location in a natural and unforced way. Alongside our investments in the vineyard and winery, starting in 2009 we began to produce our own power via a photovoltaic system mounted to the roof of the winery. We also launched a project to assess how much greenhouse gas our company produces, culminating in a carbon footprint certification in 2012.

This rigorous analysis has enabled us to identify and eliminate practices with negative environmental impacts (including chemical fertilizers and heavy bottles). By 2014, we officially converted to organic farming with the aim of promoting thoroughly natural viticulture and wine-making based on strict quality control and being deeply rooted in a balanced local ecology.
